Keith Turner

Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals.

After a number of years playing in Sydney in the Sixties, Keith moved to Canberra in 1974.  He has worked as lead guitarist with Andy & The Bellhops, Splitshift and Flashback and finally with BORDERLINE where he met and worked with Tony.

When BORDERLINE folded in 2005, Keith and Tony  turned to recording instrumental music under the name of “Sleepy and the Slickster” and have produced three CDs so far.(See other Section of the website).

Following the move to Stockinbingal in 2010 and Tony’s subsequent move in late 2011 a more formal music/recording room was set up in Tony’s granny flat. Idle discussions about (maybe) playing live again have led to the formation of “Lock, Stock & Bingle.”

Wilf Reid

 Lead Vocal

Wilf’s musical influences commenced at age 12 playing acoustic guitar. His Dad, (also Wilf), performed at parties and country music events throughout the South Coast of NSW.

On moving to Springdale young Wilf continued singing at family gatherings and local Country Music Associations for many years. He has had 4 years experience judging talent shows at these events.

In 2012 when the band was being formed Wilf was recommended on the advice of locals who reckoned “he could sing a bit and plays guitar”.

Apart from his music skills he is the Band’s resident raconteur.
 

Tony Nichols

Rhythm Guitar and Backing Vocal

My first exposure at band music was in a high school woodwind and brass band. I had a crack at everything; a sort of jack of all trades but master of none, but I ended being a percussionist but still loved playing piano and guitar and today are still my instruments of choice.

My next band experience wasn’t until I joined up with a local Canberra Muso’ and we started a two piece band called ‘Borderline’ where the music was predominantly of a country feel with some of the 50’s and 60’s music as well. After a couple of years as a duo we met Keith who’s many years as a rhythm and lead guitarist added a completely new dimension to our music. .

So now a new part of my music journey has commenced with our new band Lock Stock & Bingle.
